Barnes and noble classics collection4/13/2024 Personally, I prefer the higher quality of the Signature editions over the Flexibound editions, but they mix and match perfectly well on a shelf and all new titles released after 2012 are only available in the Flexibound format. The Signature series was replaced by the Flexibound Classics Editions collection, which includes most of the same titles re-released with similar cover designs, slightly altered spines and a soft flexible cover instead of the hard leather boards used for the Signature Editions. What’s the difference between the Signature Series and the Flexibound Editions? It was replaced by the Flexibound Classics series. There were 15 titles released in the Signature Editions collection, which has now been discontinued and all are out of print. How many titles in the Barnes & Noble Signature Editions Series? The collection consists of over 400 illustrated books, all with slipcases.Similar to Barnes & Noble’s main line of leatherbound classics, the Signature Editions are bound in bonded leather (which is a combination of scrap leather and glue), and feature raised bands on the spine, color dyed page edges, a printed design with two-color foil and detailed borders on the front and back of the hardback cover, marbled endpapers, and a silk ribbon bookmark bound in. They’re still pricey (to give you an idea, To Kill a Mockingbird costs about $50), but well worth it. The Folio Society offers the highest quality hardcovers for the serious collector who can’t afford first editions and antiques. Each volume features authoritative texts by the worlds greatest authors in exquisitely designed bonded-leather bindings, with distinctive gilt edging and a silk-ribbon bookmark. Modern Library offers a broader selection than offered by Penguin Deluxe Editions. The Count of Monte Cristo is one of Barnes & Nobles Collectible Editions classics. They are reasonably priced and feature heavy paper, clear printing, and a sturdier construction than most other paperback classic editions. Modern Library Classics are a great choice for the paperback collector. There are approximately 100 titles currently available. Featuring French flaps and artwork by award-winning designers, this collection runs from $13 to $17 per volume. Penguin Deluxe Editions (including Graphic Deluxe, Penguin Threads, and Penguin Ink) are great for the causal collector who wants stylish design and the convenience of the paperback format. Sterling also publishes a small collection of illustrated classics. For example, everyone and their dog has published Jane Austen’s six novels, but only Oxford publishes her juvenilia. This collection features over 750 titles, many of which are not available from other publishers. Oxford World Classics are great for all readers, but especially useful for students.
